Don't Judge a book by it's Movie!

I watched all the hype around The Hunger Games this spring when it came to the movies. I thought that this kinda movie and book was not my thing, not my flavor of book. So, I didn't watch the movie and figured I would read the book and if I could make it through the book I would watch the movie. I have admit I ate these books up! I couldn't put them down and it took me about 10 day to read the series. Tomorrow the movies comes out on video and I really want to see it. I just know that because I'm so fresh off the books the movie is going to suck. They couldn't get the Twilight movies right  and I'm still pissed so, now I'm so afraid that the The Hunger games will be the same. But, I'm a sucker and I can't get these books out of my head so, I'll be renting it tomorrow night and will see.......

9 Years Old!!! Blows my mind!

Jack turned 9 years old on Friday! Nine just seems so old. We went to see BRAVE at the movies and went swimming at aunt Julies house. We got back home and Jack got to choose what was for dinner and he chose Pizza Hut meat lovers pizza (yuck) but he loved it. After pizza he opened presents (he's way into LRGOS right now) we an awesome cake ( thank you Pinterest) and ice cream.

A Sunday Afternoon Trip to Pentwater

We decided that we would get up early on Sunday and go to Pentwater MI with the kids. We are planning a camping trip there at the end of August but, we felt like getting out of town and going to the lake. Both Steven and I are sick of Holland and Grand Haven. What a beautiful day we had. I packed a cooler with snacks and drinks and spent the whole day there.

A Quick Trip to Harper Lake

We all headed up to Harper Lake for mom's birthday and a porker run they have on the lake. It was the perfect weekend. Temps here in Michigan were well over 100 and it was all we could do to keep cool. Mom got up on water skis, pretty good for being her 62nd birthday! My Brother Matt tried to teach Jack to ski this weekend but, he didn't get up and we had a few tears, I thinking that maybe Jack won't try that again for a couple of years. We had so much fun and looking forward to Labor Day weekend .

Georgia turns 5 !!!!

Georgia's first "friends" Birthday party but the only friends that showed were her cousins. Goes to show you that family is the only ones that will be there for you. I invited three girls from her class and her three cousins and the only one that showed were her cousins. Lucky for Georgia she had a blast anyway. I don't think she thought twice about her friends from school. Besides ten years from now when she looks back at the pictures she will know all the kids in the photos. 

These girls had a blast. They played in our pool and ate snacks and giggled like crazy

Fathers Day Picture for Steven! I got the kids to kinda pose for these pictures but in the end this is the best I could do. I found a cute three picture frame and gave him this for fathers day, HE LOVED IT!

Pooling Around

So, we decided to try out one of those INTEX pools for the back yard. I bought this pool last year on a clearance end cap at TARGET. The kids were so excited to set it up.  So for so good, we are very pleased with it. The kids love it and it's just big enough.  If this works out we may even consider getting a bigger one next year. The kids have been in it almost everyday.
